Company not paying severance package

Following a reduction in force, my former employer offered a severance package to all employees released on June 30th (~ 20 people). All employees received their official severance letter on June 30th and have received their severance, paid on July 23rd.

All employees - except me - have received their severance letter & payment.
I have been informed that there are some legal issues for my case and that they are working the details with the company lawyers but with no further explanations.

Do I have any recourse ? Is this constitute a form of discrimination ?
What are your recommendations to best approach this case ?

Thank you in advance !
